Mitra is a Regulated Immigration Consultant-IRIB and director of Arvand Immigration Services. She is an active member in good standing with Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) and has gained extensive experience in interpretation, settlement services, and education and career case management.

She immigrated to Canada with her family in 2006 and chose Calgary, AB to call her new home. In Canada, she succeeded in the certification exams to become a certified interpreter and translator with Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB), Canada’s largest independent administrative tribunal. She has gained more than 12 years of interpretation experience working in immigration and refugee matters as a contracted Interpreter with various Canadian government departments including IRB, Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

Mitra has a strong background in supporting newcomers and immigrants to Canada through her work at a non-profit agency in Calgary. During this time, she assisted newcomers with various challenges, including securing housing, money management, cultural shock, and parenting of children. Her client focused approach and hard work ethic ultimately allowed her clients to successfully settle and integrate into Canadian society.

Mitra shifted her career  to primarily focus on career and employment counseling to assist immigrants with making informed choices to achieve their educational and career goals in Canada. Mitra has worked with many internationally trained immigrants facing employment barriers due to their limited English language skills, to improving their language skills and successfully securing sustainable employment in the Canadian competitive labour market.

Mitra is passionate about helping immigrants.   Her educational  background  coupled with her knowledge of immigration and refugee matters gained through her work in Canada allows Mitra to be an effective representative for those immigrating to Canada. She has completed a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language from Iran and pursued her Immigration Law education in Canada thus aligning her practical skills in the field of immigration consultation with her education and allowing her to serve her clients competently before they arrive in Canada. She is a well-rounded Immigration Consultant and offers pre-arrival, arrival, and post-arrival support services to ensure that her clients experience an enjoyable and successful transition to their new home, Canada.
